Welcome to Lax 4 Leukemia!

This boys lacrosse program was created in 2015 with a single high school team, and our goal was simple: bring awareness to children suffering with leukemia, to help them, support them, raise money for items they need, and bring smiles to their faces, all while playing a sport we love.

Our reasons were a bit personal too--we did it for one special girl in particular: Ella, who battled A.L.L. for 2.5 years and is the daughter of founding coach Patrick Young. We're pleased to say Ella is now in remission.

That first team in 2015 was comprised of top players from six Fulton, Forsyth and Gwinnett county high schools. Thanks to an amazing spirit and tremendous effort, the players and their families raised thousands of dollars to purchase items for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta while having a blast winning the championships of two of the three tournaments attended and placing second (by a single goal!) in the third. The love, camaraderie and sense of giving back was special. And we committed to continue... We hope you'll join us!

Lax for Leukemia is being honored and will celebrate our pre-season social at the Georgia Swarm game on April 29, 2017.

How cool is it that the Georgia Swarm will recognize LFL during half time of their final season game that night? And we hope that all our current and past players and families and their guests will come out to celebrate the night so we're also hosting a social hour before the game for our annual meet/greet/reunion.

Let's make it a FUN night for us as a team. Club level seating, access to the 2nd floor area for our social, and a food/drink voucher for $7 is available for $42/ticket. We'll be doing giveaways as well. So plan to join us, bring your friends, and lets show everyone how great our teams and programs are for the kids of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta!

Also, Mountainview High School will be hosting an event on June 17th, 2017 to also benefit Lax for Leukemia -- the Southern Lacrosse Combine. Every Southern Lacrosse Combine event is a great opportunity for those interested in continuing lacrosse at the college level. More information to come soon!

Champions x 2 at the Carolina Fall Classic

Both Lax for Leukemia teams (Orange and White) showed up in fine fashion for the 2016 Carolina Fall Classic in Columbia, SC. On a gorgeous weekend in November, they played, they won, they took home the big prize: both teams claimed championship status in their respective divisions. LFL raised awareness of and funds for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta while winning it all in honor of Ella's final chemo treatment after her 2.5 year fight.

Way to play, guys!

Who is Ella?

Ella Young is the daughter of L4L founder and coach Patrick Young. While on a family vacation to the beach in July 2014, she began experiencing symptoms and the family soon discovered that she had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). She began her treatment plan immediately, a plan that would take her through a two and a half year battle that she intends to win.

Today, she is in remission, and her spirit is strong. During hospital visits, Ella and her family have met and been blessed by wonderful people at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and now enjoy giving back to them and to the families facing her same battle. Funds raised by L4L are used to contribute to Leukemia Research as well as to purchase items needed by CHOA to help make treatment a little more comfortable for patients.
